We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Engineering to join our award-winning team at Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort. This key leadership role oversees the maintenance, functionality, and efficiency of the entire property, ensuring all systems and facilities operate at the highest standard while supporting our core business and sustainability goals.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong technical background, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for both engineering and sustainability. You possess excellent problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to navigate both high-level strategy and day-to-day challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the efficient operation, preventative maintenance, and repair of all hotel equipment, assets, and infrastructure.
• Manage services and processes that support the resort’s daily operations.
• Ensure upkeep of the structural elements of the hotel, including guest areas, back-of-house, external facilities, and grounds.
• Lead strategic planning and manage the execution of daily engineering operations.
• Implement best practices to reduce operational costs, enhance efficiency, and maintain high productivity levels.
• Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and environmental responsibility throughout the Engineering team.

• HBO/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ engineering leadership experience in a 4- or 5-star hospitality environment.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, generators, and refrigeration.
• Strong expertise in electrical and plumbing systems, as well as general maintenance.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
• Strong computer proficiency; experience with Opera Cloud and Alice systems is a plus.
• Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
• Affinity with sustainability and environmentally responsible practices.
• Experienced in vendor negotiations and project management.
• Comfortable embracing change and new technologies.
• Strategic thinker with a “helicopter view” who can communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
